DiSabatino turned down requests for an interview

BRADENTON – There's a full field in the County Commission District 4 race, but one name is absent in The Bradenton Times' coverage.

Initially, Robin DiSabatino made an appointment to meet with a reporter and discuss her views for a profile, but then she backed out, citing a scheduling conflict.

Efforts to reschedule were pursued, and then the following e-mail arrived:

"I truly am concerned that what we discuss might get turned around or taken out of context and I want to avoid any printed misinterpretations. I have great ideas and intentions for Manatee County and I am working very hard on this campaign."

In response, the reporter sent by e-mail a series of questions, but never received a response. An e-mail informing DiSabatino of a deadline to be interviewed did not garner a response, either.

On Thursday afternoon, the reporter saw DiSabatino at an event and informed her that an explanation of her absence would appear at The Bradenton Times.
