Donald Ray Winchester Sr., 86, went into the arms of our Lord, January 4, 2025.
Born to Elmer and Lylia (Hill) Winchester on October 29, 1938. He is survived by his wife Kathy (Crider, Sugars) Winchester one month shy of 54 years, blended family of children Donald R. Winchester Jr., Diana Rae Winchester, Kelly C. Holder, Michael L. (Taylor) Sugars, Jon C. (Tonya) Sugars and Holly M. (Jim) Larrimore, the only remaining sibling, brother, David S. Winchester,17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Kathy R. (Louie) Winchester and sisters, Geraldine, Thelma and Irene.
Born in Illinois, raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended George Washington High School. Taught vocational transmission mechanics at Lich High School. Worked 44.3 Years at Allison Transmission (GM) Speedway as a skilled trades auto truck & trailer mechanic. He was also a long-time rep for the UAW. When the snow got too deep, he and Kathy moved to Bradenton, Florida in 2011 where he continued to work at AutoZone as a driver and parts deliverer. He worked until August 22, 2024.
He was a 32-degree Mason. Lodge 653 Plainfield, Indiana, and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indiana. He was a water skier, Private Pilot, Scuba diver, horseback rider, and "BootScooter". He will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial Service will be held January 18, 2025, at 11:00 am, at the First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton, 1402 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, Florida.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Baptist church of Bradenton.
