Dora (Hockema) Meyer of Bradenton, FL passed away November 14, 2024 at home.
Dora was born in Lafayette, IN to John and Abbie Hockema on July 28, 1933. She went to Shadeland High School and graduated in 1953.
She worked for the Farm Bureau in Lafayette and then moved to Chicago, IL where she worked for American Airlines. She continued to stay busy throughout her life. She was very involved with the Christian Reformed and Presbyterian Churches. She also had a deep love of genealogy and wrote "The Vanderkleed Family" book.
She is survived by her daughter Teresa, grandchildren Alexandra, Sara, Thomas and Tobi (Christopher).She was preceded in death by her husband Omer F. Meyer, her parents John and Abbie Hockema and four brothers James(Wilma), Donald (Nellie), Alvin (Mary) and Russell (Midge).
Funeral Services were held at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park on November 19,2024.
