Dorismay "Doris" Thompson, née Luenser, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, at the age of 90 in Bradenton, Florida. Born on February 12, 1934, in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she lived most of her lifetime. Doris grew up attending Bach Elementary and Slauson Jr High, before graduating from Ann Arbor High School.

Doris's career as a Key Punch Operator at the University of Michigan was not only a job but also a pivotal part of her life, as it was there she met her beloved husband, Thomas Thompson. After marrying, she dedicated herself to being a devoted wife and homemaker. Doris's love for her family was immense, and she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

A lifelong supporter of Michigan Football and Basketball, Doris held season tickets for over 50 years, a testament to her unwavering team spirit. Her love for animals was equally profound, caring deeply for her cats and family dogs throughout her life.

Doris is survived by her loving son James Thompson (Carolyn Thompson) son-in-law Bill Brush and sister, Virginia Seitz. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Christopher Brush, Douglas Thompson, David Brush, Patrick Brush, Anne Falzone, Lauren Jahr, Katie Esteves and Allison Jennings, and adored 13 great-grandchildren. Doris is also remembered by several nieces and nephews but espcially her nieces, Peggy Murray and Lori Mixon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Luenser and Hazel Hinz Luenser; her husband, Thomas Thompson; and her daughter, Suzanne Brush.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Bethlehem Cemetery. Muehlig Funeral Home of Ann Arbor, Michigan, is assisting the family during this time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Huron Valley in honor of Doris's love for animals. Doris's legacy will live on through her family, and the lives she touched.
