PALMETTO – Next week, an event honoring first responders will be held at Palmetto Historical Park. It will take place on Saturday, April 16, which Palmetto Mayor Shirley Groover Bryant has named First Responders Day.
The event will have an opening ceremony that recognizes local responders. It will also feature museum exhibits that highlight the history of local law enforcement and first responder agencies, and have info booths from several local agencies (including the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, Manatee County EMS, Palmetto P.D., and North Fire F.D.). It will also have family-friendly activities such as face painting, contests, a children's Firefighter Challenge, trying on police gear and body armor, and more.
The park is located at 515 10th Avenue West in Palmetto. The event will go from 1 to 4 p.m.
