BRADENTON – There will be some tree trimming in downtown Bradenton over the next few weeks, the city said Tuesday.
Florida Power & Light will be trimming tree branches and limbs and clearing overgrown vegetation near its lines in the Bradenton downtown area and neighborhoods north of Manatee Avenue during the next few weeks.
The work is necessary to remove vegetation and branches that could knock out a power line during windy weather.

FPL said citizens should provide access to trees near power lines in the back of their property. If access to private property is required, a contractor will contact the resident personally or leave a note at the property in advance of any work.
Property owners should not attempt to trim any trees or vegetation growing on or near power lines.
