Free Tax Preparation Available In Manatee County

MANATEE--The AARP Tax Aid Program and the IRS VITA program are teaming up to provide free tax preparation for seniors and working families at sites throughout Manatee County.    

Each year, many families who are eligible to receive Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) dollars fail to do so because they don’t know how to claim the credit.  Tax preparers at AARP and VITA sites are trained to help taxpayers make the most of their return through all available credits. Tropicana Federal Credit Union is making Rapid Refunds through Refund Anticipation Loans available at deposit accounts at the credit union for participants taking advantage of this Free Tax Preparation Service.

Four IRS VITA site and five AARP sites are available and a number of IRS VITA Free Tax Mobile Van Sites are available throughout Manatee County beginning the first week in February through the second full week in April.

Central CRA, 302 Manatee Ave. E. 5-8 p.m. Wednesdays beginning January 19

 
Manatee Central Library, 1301 Barcarrota Blvd. 9-2 p.m. Mondays and Fridays

Braden River Library, 4915 53rd Ave. E. Noon-5 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays

Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, 4416 60th St. Ct. W. 9-2 p.m. Tuesdays

State College of Florida, 5840 26th St. W. Noon-5 p.m. Fridays

Colony Cove Rec Center, 564 Bayshore Drive, Ellenton. 9-2 p.m. Mondays and Fridays

The FREE Tax Mobile Van will be available at three sites in in Bradenton:

Peace Lutheran Church, 1611 30th Ave. W. 2-6 p.m. Tuesdays (February 1-April 12)

Harllee Family Center, 6423 9th St. E. 10-1:30 p.m. Saturdays (February 5-April 9) and 4-7:30 p.m. Thursdays (February 3-24)

Office Depot, Cortez & US 41. 2-6 p.m. Mondays (February 7, 14 and 21)
