MANATEE--URS Corporation, the design engineer for the Ft. Hamer Bridge project is slated to provide a status report to the board of county commissioners at Tuesday’s regular meeting in county chambers. The presentation is scheduled as a time certain event for 10:00 a.m.
The Fort Hamer Bridge crossing of the Manatee River is a priority project in the Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization's Financially Feasible 2030 Long Range Transportation Plan. The Fort Hamer Bridge project is being conducted by Manatee County in coordination with the US Coast Guard (USCG).
The bridge design is scheduled to be completed by April, 2011. The construction schedule is still pending as Manatee County has a specific bidding process it must follow. Funding for the project is in place and was collected from Manatee County road impact fees.
Other agenda items for Tuesday’s meeting include a public hearing to receive citizen comments on the 2010-11 Community Development Block Grant One-Year Action Plan and annual reports from the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Agriculture and Resource Conservation and Financial Management.
The meeting begins at 9:00 a.m.
