MANATEE--Newly-elected commissioners Robin DiSabatino, Michael Gallen along with re-elected Carol Whitmore were sworn in at Tuesday’s Board of County Commissioners meeting before a packed commission chambers. Commissioner Gallen was given the oath of office by his father, the Honorable Thomas Gallen who also swore in Commissioner DiSabatino. The Honorable Janette Dunnigan administered the oath of office to Commissioner Whitmore.

Commissioner Gallen thanked the staff for helping him through the transition. ”I’m humbled“, he said. ”I feel the love.“ Mr. Gallen takes over the District 2 seat from Gwen Brown.
Robin DiSabatino, who represents District 4, said her "door is always open. This is the District 4 Seat.“ Ms. DiSabatino replaces Ron Getman who did not run for re-election to the board.
Carol Whitmore returns for her second four-year term on the BCC. She thanked her supporters for voting for her. Ms. Whitmore defeated Democrat Sundae Knight to keep her District 6 At-Large seat.
