Born January 11, 1942 in Boissevain, VA. He was the son of George W. French Sr. and Lucy French. He was a caring father to his much-loved children and grandchildren. He was a decorated retired Vietnam Combat Veteran with 20 years in the United States Army and a retired United States Postal employee of 20 years in Bradenton, FL.
Survivors: two daughters, Sheri Collins of Bluefield, Va., and Gwenna Allen of Palmetto, FL.; one son, George French III and wife Shelly of Lawton, OK.; and 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
George will always be remembered for his generosity towards his family, he would always offer a helping hand whether you asked for it or not. He will be truly missed.
At his request, the body will be cremated, and cremains buried a later date at Maple Hill Cemetery, Bluefield, Va.
