Gregory James Hengel, Major US Army Retired of Bradenton FL, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and Donald Hengel; his brother, William J Hengel and his only sister, Loretta Lechner. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Miles, his children, Gregory, Jr, Hans and Heidi Hengel and grandchildren, Caleb, Nicole, Lincoln and Cameron, Stepchildren, Joseph (Susan Parker) Rich, Kenneth {Emily Botto) Rich and Alfie, and Lauren (Lane Martin) Rich, brothers, Tom (Susie) Hengel, Michael (Kathryn) Hengel, Edward (Angela Creed) Hengel, Dave Lechner and their children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West Bradenton, FL 34209. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at noon at St Patrick Catholic Church, 7900 Bee Ridge Rd, Sarasota, FL 34241 followed by internment at the Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
