JUPITER, FL – The Bradenton Marauders, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, got back to their winning ways Friday night at Roger Dean stadium, beating the Jupiter Hammerheads 5-2.
All the offense needed was supplied by Florida State League MVP candidate Robbie Grossman in the third. With the bases loaded against big leaguer Alex Sanabia, Grossman delivered a first pitch grand slam over the right field wall for a 4-0 lead. The bases loaded on singled by Cole White and Kelson Brown and an error on a bunt by Bengie Gonzalez. The slam was Grossman’s 10th homerun of the season.

The Marauders lead grew to 5-0 off reliever Wade Korpi in the seventh. White and Carlos Paulino went back-to-back with a pair of doubles to drive in a run.
The two runs for Jupiter came in the eighth inning on a double by Chase Austin.
Once again Bradenton got another stellar pitching performance. Starter Tyler Waldron went six innings shutout, allowing only four infield singles. He struck out three and did not walk a batter. In fact there was not a walk issued by either team in the game. The win is Waldron’s third in three Marauders appearances.
The Marauders continue their roadtrip Saturday at Roger Dean with a 6:30 start against Jupiter. Radio coverage begins at 6:15 on 1280-AM WTMY. For more information visit BradentonMarauders.com.
