Protests are scheduled at the DeSoto Mall, Big Lots in West Bradenton, and University Town Center this Saturday, April 5. Hundreds previously attended a similar protest at UTC on March 29.
The event, which is part of a nationwide movement, is being organized by Hands Off 2025. The DeSoto Mall event is scheduled for 12-2 p.m., and the UTC event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Big Lots event on Cortez Blvd West is scheduled from 12-2 p.m.
The invite reads as follows:
This is the moment where we say NO. No more looting, no more stealing, no more billionaires raiding our government while working people struggle to survive.
On April 5, we take action. Across the country, thousands of people will march, rally, disrupt, and demand an end to this billionaire power grab. We’ll show up at state capitals, federal buildings, congressional offices, and city centers—anywhere we can make sure they hear us.
A core principle behind Hands Off! is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
Hands-off events are also scheduled for Bayfront Park in Sarasota, as well as Tampa, Gulfport, and St. Pete.

Gee the party that voted against stopping income tax on social security. They should all give back the 2.5% income tax reduction they had the last 7 years.
That way they can help the thefts in Washington to continue to steal their tax money. Why anyone that thinks an audit of a system that is so far in debt is a bad idea. has little to no understand of financial management.
