From 7 p.m. to midnight tonight and from 7 to 10:30 p.m. tomorrow, John Rusnak will make the Ringling Shopping Center come alive in the form of two different haunted houses. With 20 years of haunted house production under his belt, Rusnak's Frightmares Haunted House project promises to terrify. The Shopping Center is located at 170 Shopping Avenue in Sarasota. Visitors can brave both haunts for $16 altogether; for more information, go to frightmareshaunt.com.
An amateur haunted house will also be in action tonight. Located at 3512 York Drive in Bradenton, The York Drive Project is free to all comers and offers separate, family-friendly activities in addition to the main spooky attraction.
Anna Maria Oyster Bar is hosting a blood drive today from 11:30 to 6 p.m. All donors will receive a wellness checkup of blood pressure, pulse, temperature and iron count. In addition, donors will be given a free lunch or early special, as well as a voucher for a free movie ticket. People in good general health that are 16 are older and weigh at least 110 pounds are able to donate. The company and Anheuser-Busch are once again offering Tow to Go for all of Florida until 6 a.m. on November 1. The program is a free service that is provided for those needing to tow their vehicle to a safe place within a 10 mile radius. To contact the service, call 855-286-9246.
