Bradenton, Florida - Henry F. Richter, DVM passed away 11/9/23, he was 94. "Hank" or "Papa" was loving husband to Suzanne for 65 years, who preceded him in death by only 4 months. Together, they raised five sons in Palmetto, where he also practiced Veterinary medicine. They both were actively involved in Holy Cross Catholic Parrish prior to retiring to West Virginia in 1985. They then returned to Florida, and were residing at Freedom Village, Bradenton.
Born in Sanford, Florida and raised on a small farm he eventually enlisted in the US Army, after two older siblings were actively involved in WWII. He saw active duty in the Korean War, and eventually rose to the rank of Captain, while in the reserves. He then returned to school and earned his Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University. He and Sue then moved back to Florida where he established his practice in Palmetto.
He leaves behind the families of his five sons, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; as well as many loving friends in West Virginia and Florida.
