BRADENTON -- Popular motivational speaker Ronnie Bachman will bring his inspiring anti-bullying message to nine Manatee County middle and high schools this week. Mr. Bachman’s visit to Manatee County is sponsored by Firkins Chrysler Jeep Dodge, and Mr. Bachman will speak at the Firkins dealership located at 2700 First St. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event at the Firkins Dealership is free and open to the public.

Born with a congenital birth defect, Mr. Bachman had both of his legs amputated at the hip at the age of four. Far from limiting him, Mr. Bachman went about living life on his own terms, and while other children learned to get around and play on their legs, Mr. Bachman taught himself to do everything on his hands.

”I came from a family where there was no whining,“ Ronnie states on his website, ronniebachman.com. ”Today, everything’s a pity party, but my folks were fantastic. They literally told me that this was my lot in life, that indeed it was a terrible thing, but it could be worse and to get outside and find some friends. And that’s exactly what I did. I was very blessed to have a lot of friends at a very early age.“
