Is Elon Musk Building a SpaceX Facility in Myakka City?

Posted

MYAKKA CITY — SpaceX is reportedly planning to build a satellite communications facility in Myakka City, according to county records. First reported by the Bradenton Herald, the company filed preliminary paperwork with Manatee County for a project at 3350 County Road 675.

Located just south of Lake Manatee, the project proposes a fenced compound on a 0.73-acre area with 40 satellite antennas. The company says it plans to launch its first spaceship from Cape Canaveral's Kennedy Space Center by the end of 2025.

The commercial spaceflight company, whose full name is Space Exploration Technologies Corp., was founded by Tesla CEO Elon Musk in 2002 to build efficient rockets while increasing access to space by lowering the cost of launches.

Residents of Brownsville, TX, a similarly rural area where SpaceX built a campus, had many complaints as to the way they said Musk impacted their community. The events were chronicled in a mini-doc by A More Perfect Union, which is embedded below.

They allowed the developers to destroy Parrish, and now they're after Myakka City.! What is the status of the 2 hospitals north of the river? No news about them in quite awhile!
