John Peter MacFarlane, aged 60, passed away on August 19, 2024, in Bradenton, FL. Born on October 1, 1963. John spent his early years in Bushnell, IL, attending Bushnell-Prairie City High School, where he played saxophone for band. He graduated in 1983, furthering his education at Carl Sandburg College (Galesburg, IL) and Parkland College (Champaign, IL).
John was renowned for his humor and readiness to assist those in need. Throughout his career, he worked with various bus and trucking companies in the Midwest, before driving for Uber throughout Florida. He was a devoted member of the Bridge Church in Bradenton, FL, here he actively participated in Bible studies and assisting in services. In his spare time, he tried getting into house-flipping.
John is survived by his daughters, Megan (Kevin) Steffes and Allison Lane; his parents Peter and Carol MacFarlane; and his brothers, James (Cyndi) and Joseph MacFarlane.
A memorial service will be held at the Bridge Church, 4000 75th St West, Bradenton, FL, on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 2pm. John's life was marked by his deep faith and commitment to his church, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
