Karl J. Harring of Parrish, Florida passed away on December 18, 2023. He was 53 years old. Karl grew up in Islip Terrace, Long Island, New York. As a young man, he was played youth soccer and loved it. He was involved in NYS DeMolay and became Master Councilor in April 1985 of Charles W. Taylor Chapter in Patchogue, New York. Karl moved with his family to Florida in 1986 and graduated from Lely High School, Naples, Fl in 1988.
As a young man, Karl worked in several trades including plumbing, electrical and roofing. He joined Sunniland Roofing, Naples, Florida in 1987 as a delivery driver. Karl was promoted to Inside Sales in 2012 in Bradenton. He became a Branch/Operations Manager in Bradenton in 2021. Karl was very active in the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association for many years.
Karl had a wonderful sense of humor. Karl loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He would even tell the tales of being out in the swamp buggy with friends, south of Alligator Alley. They always managed to get stuck or break down. He also loved to tinker with things, whether it was tools or trucks. He was nicknamed “Karl the Tool Man” from work because he was always helping fix the tools. As a young man, Karl would show up at the house with a “New” truck and promptly inform his family “I got a wonderful deal! All it needs is…” This did not change. As an adult he always seemed to have a truck he was working on. He actually bought his first new car not too long ago. His latest fixer upper was his home in Parrish, Florida. He loved working on it and making it his own.
Karl loved playing pool and poker with friends. He loved helping people and was quick to volunteer to help family, friends, or a stranger. He helped throughout Southwest Florida during the Hurricanes and could be found working in both the Naples area and Bradenton area during the recovery efforts. Karl made an impact in his community and to say he will be missed is an understatement.
Karl is survived by his parents: Donald and Irene Harring, his sister Debre (Harring) White, his nephews: Thomas White, Travis White, and Steven White. His Aunt Janet Kiessling, and Godfather Roger Muldoon, and numerous cousins.
Funeral Arrangements will be held on: Saturday, December 30th at Faith Lutheran Church at 4150 Goodlette Road N, Naples, FL 34103. The viewing will be at 8:00 and the Funeral Service will begin at 10:00am. The internment will be at 12:45pm at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, Florida 34108
