Lakewood Ranch, St. Stephen's Students to Go Head-to-head in Academic Contest on Tuesday

On Tuesday, March 15, students from Lakewood Ranch High and Saint Stephen's Episcopal will go head-to-head in the Manatee Academic Challenge. Taking place at Southeast High's T.V. production studios, the contest will be broadcast on local live television.
 
Tuesday is the final contest in the Academic Challenge, which has consisted of all six of the district's traditional public high schools and St. Stephen's answering academic questions on teams of three, with three seven-minute rounds. The questions involve several different subjects, such as Science, Math, History, Literature and others.
 
School board member and former Manatee High School History educator Charlie Kennedy will give the questions to the two finalist teams and act as the last contest's judge.
 
The 7 p.m. live broadcast will be on Brighthouse channel 646, Verizon Fios channel 39 and on Manatee Schools Television.
