Land Use Meeting Scheduled to Hold Vote on Oasis At University Project

Posted
BRADENTON – A second public hearing and vote on the Oasis At University project is scheduled for Thursday's Land Use meeting, when county commissioners will decide whether to approve a rezone and preliminary site plan for the planned residential development.

The proposed project consists of 324 multi-family residential units. It would be built on a 25.6 acre property located on the north side of University Parkway, east of U.S. 301 and next to the SCL railroad.

When the Planning Commission recommended approval of the project in March, the approval included changing the density of the site plan from Residential 9 to Residential 16 and raising the maximum height of the buildings from 35 feet to 45 feet. The property is located next to a perennial stream; the Planning Commission permitted development next to the stream with its vote.

The Land Use meeting is scheduled to take place in the commission chambers on the first floor of the Manatee County Government Administration Building, located at 1112 Manatee Avenue West in Bradenton.
