LaToya Benton Named Manatee County Tax Collector

BRADENTON — LaToya Benton was selected by her peers as the Manatee County Tax Collector’s Most Valuable Employee 2014. Candidates are nominated by their peers, must be approved by the Senior Team, and then voted on by the entire office. In addition to Ms. Benton, this year’s candidates were Antonia Media, an accountant in Financial Services, and David Brierton, an IT support technician.

An employee since 2007, Latoya is an assistant manager in the Current Collections department, DeSoto office. She is responsible for receptionist training, cash room training and coaches new hires. She received the Employee of the Quarter in 2009.

The employee nominating LaToya wrote, “LaToya is such a great person to work with; she shows empathy and sympathy for both customers and co-workers. There is no other person like her! LaToya shows up to work every day with a great attitude and with such great patience. The core values she exhibits are Customer Focus, Innovation, Future Focus, Teamwork Excellence and Accountability.”

The MVE award carries with it a certificate, name engraved on the MVE trophy, name listed on the Most Valuable Employee page on www.taxcollector.com, a Java n' Jive gift certificate, a special lanyard pin, and a bonus unileave day.
