Lee Cosens, of Bradenton, Florida,passed away following a two-year battle with stage 4 metastatic kidney cancer just one day shy of his 40th birthday on April 16, 2023.
Lee was a loving husband to his wife, Amy, and a devoted father to his two young daughters, Savannah Lee and Margaret Lee. Born and raised in northern Michigan, Lee moved to Florida shortly after high school and fell in love with the palm trees, year-round boating, and Amy. Lee was a police sergeant with Bradenton PD and a Veteran with the 293rd Military Police Company.
He served in the Army from 2007 – 2012, including a tour in Kandahar, Afghanistan from 2009 – 2010. He was passionate about advocating for military and police officers and was a representative for the Police Benevolent Association. Outside of work,
Lee loved traveling, spending time with his family, Michigan Football, and being on the water. He lived his life with honor, integrity, and compassion, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him!
A Memorial Service for Lee will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, April 28, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, 1306 Manatee Avenue West Bradenton, FL 34205. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
