Letter: For the Men and Women, Firefighters and EMS of Bradenton

Posted
We wanted to take the time out of this very difficult time in our lives to thank you. On Sunday you went above and beyond your duties and showed everyone that there are great and feeling people in this world.

Our mom was on her death bed and my dad was having trouble breathing because of his congestive heart failure, we called 911. What happened next, we did not expect. The firemen and EMS men and women came in and took care of our dad. We asked if they could just stop at the door while he was on the gurney to say goodbye to my mom for one last time.

They maneuvered the gurney in this very tight space to get right beside my mom. They held hands and my dad told my mom "Ti vedo in paradiso" (I'll see you in paradise). There was not a dry eye in the house. They did not have to do this but they did and we wanted to acknowledge this, and since most people tend to acknowledge the worst in people we wanted to show that there are people out there who care.

Our mom passed away that afternoon and dad is in the hospital. We are hoping he will make it out. We ask if this can be published online and in the paper so that everyone can thank all firefighters, police and EMS for everything that they do every day.

Sincerely,
The Rossi's daughters
Florida, NY and Nokomis, FL
