Linda Snyder

Linda Eileen Werner Snyder was born August 4, 1957, in Jacksonville, Illinois to Ruth and Norman Werner.

She grew up in Decatur where her family moved shortly after her birth. Linda played violin for four years in the MacArthur High School orchestra where she graduated in 1975.

As a young teen, she worked at Sandy's, the iconic hamburger joint of its time in Decatur, Illinois. Prior to the completion of her undergraduate degree in Nursing, she worked at Path in various roles supporting women. After graduating she worked at McFarland Mental Health Center while she was finishing her master's in social work. She finished her career at SIU Medicine in Springfield where she was much beloved by her colleagues.

Linda married Steven Snyder of Springfield on October 18th, 2008, a glorious day with picture perfect weather on the shores of Lake Springfield with family and friends. After retirement, she and Steve moved to Bradenton, Florida to a home with a lovely view of the bay that Linda enjoyed. Linda maintained close relationships with her family and friends with visits and then in later years by phone and email. She had a positive attitude and was always truly kind. She never failed to compliment Steve and to praise him for the care he lavished on her.

Linda was proceeded in death by her parents, brother James, and sister Susan. She is survived by husband Steve Snyder, brother Michael, nephews Eric and Matt, grandnephews Aiden, Caleb, and Henry, and grandniece Amelia.
