BRADENTON -- A tour of Sarasota arts and entertainment organizations will be hosted by Music Compound on Monday, Oct. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The tour, which is only for middle and high school students, is focused on showing youth what happens "behind the scenes" at local arts and entertainment companies and venues, raising awareness of local future, and giving kids interested in an arts & entertainment career a glimpse of future employment opportunities.
The following companies will be visited on the tour: Sarasota Opera House, Asolo Reparatory Theatre, iHeart Media, JumpDog Audio Productions, Super-Sensitive Musical String Co., and the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota.
In a statement, Jenny Alday Townsend, President/Owner of the Music Compound, said, "It is such a pleasure to arrange this kind of outing for students of Sarasota!" Townsend continued, "Since the launch of Music Compound in January, we have had such an amazing response from the community. Not only do we facilitate private lessons in all instruments for our students, but also have the chance to expand their world through wonderful experiences like Backstage Tour. We cannot wait to share this experience with the youth of our area."
In addition to the tour destinations, the $70 ticket pricing includes transportation by SRQ Trolley, and dining. Discounts are available to VPA students and MC members; RSVP by inquiry at 941-379- 9100 or www.musiccompound.com.
