BRADENTON - A meet & greet event with local author Lela Rast Hartsaw will be hosted at Carnegie Library on Saturday, Aug. 6.
On topic for the event will be the writer and historic preservationist's new book, The Adventures of Abigail Rose-Ida Patten’s Antebellum Doll.
This work of historical fiction describes life in 19th century Florida - through the long and worrisome War Between the States, frightening visits from enemy troops, near-misses with local Indians, and a chance encounter with a fugitive.
Autographed copies of the book will be available. Proceeds from the book will go toward upkeep and restoration of the historic Patten House at Gamble Plantation.
The library is located at 1405 Fourth Avenue West in Bradenton.
