A firm believer in the slogan, ”The people's vote is their voice,“ Corie Holmes is running for Manatee County Commission, District 1. First starting out as a volunteer at the Manatee County Sherriff’s Office, Holmes accumulated a total of 12 years with the agency before moving into the field of private investigation. He faces incumbent District 1 Commissioner Larry Bustle in November.
Holmes grew up in Palmetto and works closely with A.C.T, a non-profit organization actively teaching life skills to at-risk youths in the area.
Mainly interested in community restoration, Holmes plans ”to create a public outreach program to invest in the well-being of the senior population,“ ensure children receive a quality education and preserve Manatee County’s economical and environmental treasures.
Holmes seeks to act on the behalf of local citizens and strongly opposes outside entities concerned with making ”a profit at the expense of our quality of life.“
”My commitment is to the people of Manatee County--not to any outside agency or interests,“ Holmes said. ”I will always fight to raise your quality of life, and I believe that in this time in history, we need people to come together to focus on what's best for our collective community.“
