BRADENTON -- At the Planning Commission meeting Thursday, Commissioners recommended amending the Land Development Code, revising the definition related to off-site advertising, providing the sign is at the entranceway. Commissioners then recommended approval for a new 672 square foot/63-foot high electronic sign at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex, the first applicant to request a permit under the revised ordinance.

The original 2010 application was 800 square feet at 71 feet high. The Commission also recommended plans for an 80-bed adult living facility on four acres south of 51st Avenue West near 20th Street West. The issues will now go before the board of county commissioners at a future date for final approval.
