PALMETTO -- A new boat ramp is on the drawing board for the city of Palmetto and so are the long-awaited ballfields. Police Chief Wells has computers ready for squad cars and the roundabout has traffic going one way. Palmetto is moving like a well-greased wheel.

Jeff Burton's report was short and positive. Said he was very happy with the way County staff handled the WCIND workshop. Charlie Hunsicker exceeded expectations in not only matching funds but offered further assistance. County recognized the boat ramp project was also a regional issue. Wanted commitment to stay focused on theme for historical lightingÉ.

7. DEPARTMENT HEADS’ COMMENTS -- Chief Wells says grants have come through for the computers. All sergeant cars will have needed equipment.
8. MAYOR’S REPORT -- Ball park is moving forward, county finally sees the ball park is regional and is eligible for impact fee money. Glad that county sees the boat ramp in same light.
9. COMMISSIONERS’ COMMENTS -- Commissioner Tanbra Varnador, wants traffic light at 7 st. and 10th. ave. among other to be inspected. many complaints of not turning. -- Commissioner Charles Smith, wants Chief Wells to look into what he needs to handle all that is being thrown at him. Smith says they have been operating with less than they might need for too long. Wants workshop to discuss assistance. Smith wants Commissioners to look into developing Housing Authority.
