PALMETTO — A field day on horticulture production and research will be offered to youth 8-13 years of age on Friday, March 27. 'Green and Growing' will have kids spending most of the day at University of Florida's Gulf Coast Research and Education Center in Wimauma.
Attendees will meet at the Manatee County Agriculture and Extension Services office in Palmetto before leaving for the GCREC. Upon arrival, a variety of learning subjects will be focused on lab and greenhouse tours; a tractor safety course; visiting a Manatee County plant nursery, and more.
Children must be registered no later than March 23rd; reservations are limited. Those without 4-H membership must register for free as short term members before participating.
