BRADENTON – Easter Sunday is one of the most attended church services for Christians during the year, and it is a day when people all around the world celebrate a spiritual renewal.
For those who participated in the 40 days of Lent that started on Ash Wednesday – people who fasted, repented and prepared for Easter – now celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ in Western Christianity and believe in eternal life in Jesus Christ.
Wendell Wilson is the program director for Manatee County Ministries Association (MCMA) and the founder of Loving Hands Ministries; he has helped to plan the Community Sunrise Service on the waterfront in downtown Bradenton, from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m., with the De Soto Heritage Historical Society.

”We just believe that it is significant for all Christians to come together on Easter Sunday,“ he said. ”We want everyone to celebrate as a family.“
On this day he also wants people to appreciate the heritage of Manatee County, as the De Soto Heritage Historical Society’s Queen and her Court will be at the service and will be recognized.
The Hernando De Soto Conquistadors will also join the community and will serve as ushers for the service.
A special offering will be taken to help the Manatee Religious Services organization, a group devoted to working with the underprivileged and the homeless.
”The service is on the beautiful waterfront of Rossi Park,“ Wilson said. ”We will recognize victory to the resurrection of Jesus Christ as one community.“
He added that the MCMA president Rev. Joey Mimbs, from Bethel Baptist Church, will provide the sermon for the morning.
However, Wilson also said that a lot of services in the area will provide people the opportunity for spiritual renewal and a devoted time to celebrate the life of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday.
If you or your family would like to participate in a local Easter Sunday service, we have highlighted a few worship opportunities at some area churches in addition to the De Soto Heritage Festival's Easter Sunrise Service.
