LUCILLE GENEVA KORICH - Strong and Loving Matriarch
Born in Bessemer, Michigan, on January 24, 1928, to Beatrice (Uren) and Walter Walczak, Lucille passed on November 9, 2024, in Bradenton, Florida, with the same grace in which she lived her entire life.
Lucille was and will always be the heart of her family – a loving wife, extraordinary mother and grandmother, and true inspiration to all who knew her. Her unwavering faith in God was evident in everything she did. A devoted Catholic, she prayed the rosary every night, holding both loved ones and strangers in her thoughts and prayers.
She found peace at the cabin and cherished the calls of loons across the lake, majestic eagles soaring, and the hummingbirds that seemed to flock around her as if she was their queen. As the life of every party, she always found a reason to celebrate and indulge in a treat. The spirited legacy of Lucille will continue to shine through in each hand of Liverpool shared by those she loved, in every Patsy Cline song, and in the laughter and joy of those blessed to know her.
Lucille is preceded in death by the love of her life and adoring husband of 59 years, Jack Korich, her beautiful daughter, Kelly Foster, and numerous family members and friends.
She is survived by her children: Kathryn McElmury (Bob), Jeanne Turnquist (Kurt), George Korich (Rae Ann), Robert Korich (Stephanie), John Korich. By her grandchildren: Robert McElmury, Jacy McElmury, Amy McElmury, Chapin Stitt, Courtney Turnquist, Jacqueline Turnquist (Max Hager), Elizabeth Foster, Tori Haffner (Alex), Sadie Korich, Lily Korich Burshten (Trevor) Jessica Korich, Kathryn (Katie) Korich. By her great grandchildren: Maleck, Manny, Mesa, Ava, and Haley McElmury, Parker and Miles Sabuda, Hallie Korich, Charlotte Haffner and Hazel Korich Burshten. By her great-great grandchild, Monti Stokes. By Sister-in-law: Patricia Walczak. Also, by nieces, nephews and dear friends too numerous to name, but much loved.
