Manatee Commissioners Elect Board Officers for 2011; Carol Whitmore New BCC Chair

MANATEE--The Board of County Commissioners elected officers for 2011 at Tuesday’s regular meeting in county chambers. Carol Whitmore was elected Chairman of the BCC by her fellow commissioners. The remaining officers for county boards were elected as follows:

Board of County Commissioners 1st Vice-Chairman, John Chappie. 2nd Vice-Chairman, Larry Bustle. 3rd Vice-Chairman, Michael Gallen.  

Carol Whitmore Elected Chair of the BCC

Larry Bustle remains Chairman of the Port Authority. John Chappie is 1st Vice-Chairman. Carol Whitmore is 2nd Vice-Chairman. Robin DiSabatino is 3rd Vice-Chairman.

Joe McClash will be the new Chairman of the Civic Center Authority. Michael Gallen will be the 1st Vice-Chairman. Donna Hayes is the 2nd Vice-Chairman. Robin DiSabatino is the 3rd Vice-Chairman.

Newly sworn in commissioners Robin DiSabatino and Michael Gallen will Chair and Vice-Chair respectively the Community Redevelopment Agency.

Carol Whitmore was chosen to represent Manatee County on the Tourist Development Council.

All terms begin January 1, 2011 with the exception of Commissioner Whitmore’s position on the TDC which will be effective immediately since there is a meeting on December 13.
