MANATEE COUNTY – Manatee County has one opening for a citizens advisory committee that makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on matters pertaining to the Palmetto/North Manatee County Enterprise Zone .
The vacant position is for a representative from a non-profit organization that operates within the zone.
The Enterprise Zone Development Agency helps develop and implement a strategic plan aimed at revitalizing areas of Palmetto north of the DeSoto Bridge. It also oversees and monitors the implementation of the strategic plan.
The agency identifies and recommends ways to remove regulatory barriers to the Board of County Commissioners and identifies local resources or assistance available to eligible businesses and residents in the zone.
The group meets on the first Monday every quarter at 9:30 a.m. at the University IFAS and Manatee County Extension Service Building, Hailey Room, 1303 17th Street W., Palmetto.
