BRADENTON – At Tuesday's BOCC meeting, members voted to approve $36 million in a term loan to fund projects. In other business, members were updated on the Rubonia Neighborhood Action Plan and appointed a veterinarian to the Animal Services Advisory Board.

Bustle said, "Nowhere in the presentation (Rubonia Neighborhood Plan) did I hear RFP (Request For Proposal) for the community center." Bustle also said he thought Robonia's Mardi Gras was very important to the community.
Smith said he has learned a lot going around to meetings and talking with associations. Smith also said he is asked about traffic everywhere he goes.
Benac said she read a letter to the editor asking why we (the county) charge for ambulances. Her answer said we are a county that has low taxes and we can't afford it.
Chappie said, "Thanks goes to Bradenton's Police Chief and welcome to the new chief."
DiSabatino asked if the commission could look into using TDC (Tourist Development Council) funds to pay for police presence at the Rubonia Mardi Gras Parade.
County Attorney Mickey Palmer asked the board to make a motion to send Holmes Beach officials a letter stating that the commission is unanimously opposed to the vacating of a 2500 s.f. piece of property owned by Manatee County that sits on the shore on 39th Street in Holmes Beach. – Approved, Unanimous
