Manatee County Fleet Services Receives More International Recognition

MANATEE COUNTY – For the 8th year in a row, Government Fleet magazine has selected Manatee County Fleet Services as one of the top 100 public sector fleets in North America, out of an estimated 38,000 across the continent.

The magazine ranked Manatee Fleet Services No. 14 out of the top 100 fleets in North America during the Best Fleets at the Government Fleet Expo and Conference Tuesday in San Diego.

"We are very proud of Team Fleet as they continue to achieve national recognition for the value each member brings to our community,“ said Public Works Director Ron Schulhofer.

Fleet Services Manager Mike Brennan gave all the credit to a hardworking group of technicians, material management staff and administrative professionals who always get the job done safely and on time.

”Being ranked in the Top 100 for the eighth consecutive year clearly defines this team’s dedication and commitment to provide the best, most cost effective fleet maintenance and management service support to our community,“ Brennan said. ”It is an honor to lead such a team of outstanding professionals, and I congratulate each and every one of them for their combined successes and national recognition.“

In 2008, Fleet was named Fleet Master of the Year by the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP), a national group of fleet management professionals who work in private and public sector construction, utilities, energy, mining and other areas.
