MANATEE COUNTY-- There are a host of activities on deck this week at Robinson Preserve and Emerson Point. Collect native seeds, take a wagon ride, or enjoy the famous Snakes Alive! program.

Friday 21st, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM – TALL TAILS TRIBE: THE WHEELS ON THE WAGON GO ROUND AND ROUND – Get ready for a grand adventure! We’re bringing the Tribe to Robinson for a special wagon ride through the marsh. Join our naturalists for a fun salt marsh safari filled with songs, stories, and lots of super sights. Wagon ride fee is $2 for children, $3 for adults. This special wagon tour is suitable for children age 5 and under and their accompanying adults. Reservations are required! Saturday 22nd, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM – SEED SAVERS VOLUNTEER WORKDAY – Help prepare the preserve for new life. Learn how to collect native seeds from wildflowers and grasses and spread them to build new habitat. We will work to collect, and then spread, seeds throughout the preserve. Saturday 22nd, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM – SNAKES ALIVE! SHUTTER STROLL – Join nature photographer Dotty and snake handler Melissa for a special opportunity to photograph live snakes. Multiple species will be available for use as subjects. Learn tips and tricks for shooting reptiles, moving creatures, and macro wildlife images and then stay for the educational program afterward. Live snakes will be present in this program. Program suitable for participants age 16 and older. Reservations are required. Please call 941-742-5757 ext. 9. Emerson Point Preserve

Saturday 22nd, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM – SNAKES ALIVE! FAMILY PROGRAM – Celebrate all things serpentine with snake handler Melissa! Meet several slithery subjects and learn about the incredible adaptations snakes use to survive. We will also discuss the venomous snakes of Florida, and how to tell the difference between helpful and harmful. Live snakes will be present in this program. Program suitable for all ages.
