BRADENTON – On June 8th 2011, Manatee County Rural Health Services, Inc. opened its doors to it’s newest obstetrics and gynecology location at 2318 Manatee Ave. Many local elected officials came out to show encouragement and also address the concerns of the district. Manatee County Rural Health Services delivers over two-thirds of the children in Manatee County.

Many individuals who have been following the company for decades remember when women would line up outside of the door in the early hours of the morning to be seen by a gynecologist, because there was such a shortage of such doctors in the area.

Among those in attendance were retired Senator John McKay, Retired Senator Edgar Price, County Commissioners John Chappie, Robin DiSabatino, Michael Gallen and Carol Whitmore, former state rep. Ron Reagan, and former Palmetto Police Chief Gary Lowe.
