BRADENTON – Two agenda items involving approval to terminate former Manatee High School assistant principles of the Manatee School District were tabled for a second time at Tuesday's school board meeting.

Matthew Kane and Greg Faller, who separately went to trial in June after being charged with not fulfilling a legal obligation to report child abuse by former MHS assistant football coach and parent-teacher liaison Rod Frazier after allegedly becoming aware of his actions, were suspended.

The two men will now wait until January to find out whether they will receive back pay or any other benefits after being suspended without pay by the district.

The board voted in October of 2013 to suspend both without pay following the conclusion of an internal investigation into the Frazier sex scandal by Troy Pumphrey, the district's director of its Office of Professional Standards.

Following conclusion of their trials, Kane was acquitted, and Faller was convicted of a misdemeanor for failing to report. Afterward, the board was set to vote on the termination orders for both men at an October 28 meeting.

Those orders were tabled with a unanimous vote, after board members Dave Miner and Bob Gause had requested more time to review the evidence for each case.
