Marauders Beat Mets 10-5

BRADENTON – The Marauders (58-56, 20-26) took game one of their series with the St. Lucie Mets (61-51, 26-19) by a final of 10-5.

The Mets batted around in the top of the second to jump out to a 5-0 lead. Luis Guillorme (1-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI, BB, R) hit a two-run double that made it 2-0. Lednier Ricardo (2-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI, R) added a two-run single to make it 4-0. Patrick Biondi (2-for-4, RBI) made it 5-0 with an RBI double.

Connor Joe’s (1-for-4, RBI, BB) RBI groundout in the bottom half of the inning made it 5-1.

Bradenton scored its second run on an RBI single by Jordan Luplow (2-for-4, RBI, BB, R, SB).

Jerrick Suiter (3-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R, BB) hit a two-out, two-run double in the fifth to make it 5-4 Mets, and Chase Simpson (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R, BB) doubled off the right field wall to tie the game at 5.

The Marauders scored four times in the bottom of the sixth to take a 9-5 lead. They got RBI’s from Tito Polo (1-for-4, RBI, BB, R), Suiter, and Simpson.

Michael Suchy (2-for-3, RBI, BB, R) added an RBI single in the seventh to make it 10-5.

Marauders starter Austin Coley lasted just 1.1 innings, his shortest outing of the season.
