BRADENTON – The
Marauders (57-56, 19-26) dropped game two of their series with the Palm Beach Cardinals (47-65, 15-29) by a final of 8-7.
Michael Pritchard (1-for-5, RBI) opened the scoring with an RBI groundout in the top of the first inning. Casey Grayson (0-for-4, SF, RBI) added a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.
Jerrick Suiter (1-for-4, 2 RBI, R) tied the game at two in the bottom half of the inning with a two-run single with the bases loaded. Jordan Luplow (2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R) hit a three-run homer to give Bradenton a 5-2 lead.
The Cardinals got a run back in the third on an RBI double by Juan Herrera (3-for-5, 2 2B, 2 RBI, SB, 2 R).
The Marauders got their sixth run on a ground-ball double play in the third.
Palm Beach scored twice in the fourth on a two-run single by Steve Bean (1-for-5, 2 RBI) to make it 6-5 Bradenton. Tate Scioneaux entered with the bases loaded and nobody out, and he got out of the jam unscathed.
But Dylan Tice (1-for-4, RBI, R, BB) lined an RBI single to tie the game at 6 in the fifth inning.
The Cardinals re-took the lead in the eighth on an RBI double by Herrera. They added another run on an error.
Taylor Gushue (2-for-3, HR, BB) homered to begin the ninth inning to make it 8-7.
