BRADENTON – The Marauders haven't let wet fields or rain delays slow down their offense. Though late finishes have hampered our coverage the last few nights, I'm happy to report that our boys are on a hot streak, scoring 25 runs in their last two games against the Ft. Myers Miracle.
On Monday night, Robbie Grossman went 4 for 6 with 6 RBI's, including a double and a triple. Big Eric Huber also had a breakout game as DH. The 6'6, 230 pound slugger went 4 for 5 on the night. Jeff Locke continued to throw well, getting the win and moving to an impressive 7-3. The Marauders won the game 14-4.
On Tuesday, Bradenton took an 11-1 victory with their 11 hits, spread over 7 batters. Aaron Pribanic (4-4) got back to .500 wit the win, while Mike Colla was impressive for three innings, while picking up the save. The team began an important series with first-half champ Charlotte last night.
Don't forget the Marauders return to Bradenton Sunday night for a 6 p.m. date with the Palm Beach Cardinals, who'll likely be their stiffest competition for a playoff spot. It's bound to be an exciting match-up and fans can stick around to see the big fireworks display following the game.
