Marauders' Meadows and Weiss Named Florida State League End-of-Season All-Stars

BRADENTON – The Florida State League has recognized 2015 Marauders outfielder Austin Meadows and second baseman Erich Weiss as End-of-Season All-Stars. The End-of-Season All-Star Team is comprised of players from both the North Division and South Division. Meadows and Weiss both earned promotions to Double-A Altoona during the season.
Meadows is a 20-year-old outfielder from Atlanta, GA. He batted .307 with seven (7) home runs while patrolling center field for the Marauders. He scored 72 runs, tied for second in the FSL, and drove in 54. He established a new Marauders high mark for multi-hit games in a season with 46. On the base paths he collected 20 stolen bases while being caught just seven times. MLB.com tabbed Meadows as the second best prospect in the Pittsburgh system in their mid-season prospect rankings. Meadows is in his third season of professional baseball. He was a 2013 Gulf Coast League Post-Season All-Star in his debut season and a Mid-Season All-Star in the FSL this year.
Weiss is a 23-year-old infielder from Bellville, TX. He hit .285 with three (3) home runs and 49 RBIs. He played in 98 games for Bradenton before his promotion to Altoona on July 31. His .362 on-base percentage with the Marauders rates fifth in the FSL. Weiss hit 17 doubles and stole 11 bases. The University of Texas product earned Mid-Season All-Star status in 2013 in the NY-Penn League and 2014 in the South Atlantic League.
Weiss is batting .278 for Altoona in 27 games since his promotion. Meadows made his Double-A debut on Wednesday and went 2-for-4 at the plate.
The Marauders final regular season home game is Friday, September 4. The game will serve as Fan Appreciation Night and all fans in attendance will be able to enter a free raffle with the chance to win great prizes, including a 32" Smart TV, a GoPro Hero, a laptop, and much more!
