BRADENTON -- It may be the off-season, but the Bradenton Marauders are keeping busy with a fun event for kids and their families. The team will host "Trunk or Treat" at McKechnie Field on Saturday Oct. 30th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.. The event is a safe trick or treating option for all area youth 14 years of age and under. This free event will take place in the player’s parking lot off 17th Avenue West in Bradenton.
Children will trick or treat out of the trunks of vehicles belonging to local businesses and community organizations. Trick or treaters will enjoy traditional trick or treating, a sugar cookie decorating station, coloring station, multiple inflatables and hayrides around the warning track.
A best costume and best decorated trunk contest will be held during the event. Prizes will be awarded for the top three costumes with the grand prize winner receiving a four-pack of Marauders tickets for the 2011 season and a Marauders prize pack. The vendor with the best decorated trunk will receive a gift certificate from Chiles Restaurant Group.
Free parking for this event will be in the One Stop Center parking lot located on 17th Avenue West. A Bradenton police officer will assist families with crossing the street to attend the festivities.
The Marauders completed a successful first season in the Florida State League in 2010 by winning the second half standings in the South Division and making the playoffs.
