Mary Anne Grunwald of Bradenton, FL was born April 15, 1937, in Malta, Europe. She passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, January 1, 2025.
Mary Anne immigrated to the Bronx, New York as a child with her family in 1948. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 64 years, Edward E. Grunwald. Together, they lived in New Jersey until 1990 when they moved to Clifton, VA and then to Bradenton, FL in 1997. They also spent most summers at a cabin retreat in Northeastern PA, where they loved the outdoors and nature.
Mary Anne was a graduate of William Paterson College, where she was the valedictorian of her class, and had a great appreciation for education, puzzles and playing cards with family. She worked for Exxon Mobil for over 40 years in New York, NY and Fairfax, VA. She was also an avid traveler, having visited all seven continents. Mary Anne was a devoted member of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostle's Catholic Church in Bradenton.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Robert Campagna, Sr.; nephews, Joseph Fenech, Frank Fenech, Scott Fenech and Robert Campagna, Jr.; nieces Charlyn Bergstrom, Cynthia Palazzolo and Lisa Bodmer; and many grandnephews and grandnieces. Mary Anne was a devoted wife and a loving daughter, sister and aunt. She will be missed every day.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West Bradenton, FL 34209.
A Mass will be held 9:30 AM Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Ss. Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic Church, 2850 75th St W, Bradenton, FL 34209 with burial to follow at Sarasota National Cemetery.
