MCSO Announces August Employees of the Month

Posted

MANATEE COUNTY -- Don Brown’s co-workers note that he is always helpful, in good spirits and willing to go above and beyond his job description. Don is patient and treats people with courtesy and respect. He recently assisted a Patrol Secretary set up a  process to capture data for statistics in order to prepare a report.  When the process is implemented, the results will save time and allow her to work more efficiently.

Don is appreciated as a valued employee who does not hesitate to offer his expertise to help co-workers, for which he is awarded Employee of the Month for August 2011. Congratulations!

On July 14, 2011,  Deputy Jason Vitoritt responded to a domestic incident, conducted an investigation and concluded that no crime had occurred. He issued domestic packets to the couple and left the scene.  As Deputy Vitoritt drove around the cul-de-sac and passed the residence, he noticed the man had come out of the house yelling that his wife shot him; he then collapsed. Deputy Vitoritt rendered first aid to the victim and secured the woman without incident.

Deputy Vitoritt disregarded his own personal safety to help the victim, took the suspect into custody and briefed the back-up deputy so that he could assist at the scene. For his ability to respond quickly and maintain control of all aspects of the incident, Deputy Jason Vitoritt is awarded Deputy of the Month for August 2011. Congratulations!
