SARASOTA — Dr. Julie Hutchins-Wilson has joined the MindSpa Integrative Wellness Center in Sarasota. She’s a veteran counselor, consultant, coach, and research scientist with over 35 years experience in a variety of settings including clinics, hospitals, schools, corporations, professional athletic organizations, art communities, private practice, and in wilderness settings. Her private business name is BRAINNSPA which is an acronym for Brain Research and Integrative Neuroscience-Neurophysiology Solutions.
Dr. Hutchins provides Solution-Focused Counseling and Therapy, Marital and Family Therapy, Bioenergetics, and Play Therapy. She also works with neuroscience-based assessments and treatments such as QEEG brain mapping, Neurofeedback and Biofeedback, computerized cognitive brain training, mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques, somato-sensory integration work, bio-physiological lab testing, and integrative medical advocacy.
Dr. Hutchins works with individuals, children and families treating and training the body, mind and brain using traditional and alternative treatment methods. She completed her MS and PhD at Barry University in Miami graduating with honors from the CACREP accredited programs. She has a dual MS degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy and School Guidance. Her PhD studies focused on Social Neuroscience and Family Systems, and her undergraduate degree focused on Movement Therapy, Somato-Sensory Integration and Special Education.
Dr. Hutchins has been awarded many research grants and awards with a focus on the Neuroscience of Goal-Setting. She’s board-certified with the National Board for Certified Counselors and the American Psychotherapy Association. She is also registered as a Marriage, Family Therapist and Mental Health Counselor with the Florida Department of Health.
MindSpa provides diverse clinical and spa services supported by experienced experts. MindSpa relocated to the Ridgegate Center earlier this month after operating at its prior location on Bahia Vista Street since 2004.
