Movers and Shakers Movers and Shakers: Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Selected To Construct Medical Office Building in Bradenton

Posted

SARASOTA — Manatee Gynecology recently announced plans for construction of a new medical office building in Bradenton, Florida. The firm has selected general contractor Satterfield & Pontikes Construction (S&P) of Sarasota to build the 10,000-square-foot facility. “We are privileged to have been selected by Manatee Gynecology as their construction manager, and continue to expand our footprint in the Sarasota-Manatee area,” said Craig Campbell, Director of Operations for S&P. “We look forward to providing them with a first-class facility that will continue to meet their patients’ and the community’s health needs.”

The $1.45 million project will be constructed on a one-acre site at 2310 60th St. Court W. in Bradenton, creating additional jobs during the construction phase. When completed, the building will provide offices, examination rooms, nurses’ stations, a laboratory and all the necessary resources to deliver high-quality women’s health care.

Designed by Wolfe Architects of Tampa, the building will feature a modern architectural style with extraordinary exterior design elements. Exterior masonry walls will vary from the typical flush surface usually seen on buildings. The use of stucco-finished, eight-inch concrete blocks in most areas of exterior walls, along with strategically positioned 12-inch blocks finished with decorative porcelain tile, will provide an interesting visual effect.

The one-story building will be constructed with a structural steel frame and thermoplastic polyolefin roofing. Interior finishes will include a granite reception desk and nurses’ station. Unique aluminum canopies at the front entrance and on windows will provide both functionality and visual appeal.

The project is in final stages of design, and groundbreaking is expected in early May 2015. S&P is scheduled to complete construction in November 2015. The Manatee Gynecology project will further expand S&P’s healthcare portfolio in the region. S&P is currently nearing completion of construction of the AllCare Medical Plaza in Bradenton.

Manatee Gynecology is an all-female group of board-certified physicians located in Bradenton. With more than 20 years of experience, the four-physician practice features the only fellowship-trained minimally invasive surgeons with expertise in advanced laparoscopy, robotic, and urogynecologic surgery in Manatee and Sarasota counties.
