Northeastern University Rowers Are First to Train at Ft. Hamer Park Facility

MANATEE--Northeastern University’s rowing team has been training at Ft. Hamer Park  since last Thursday and more teams are on the way. The 22 man Boston area university team will practice at the Parrish facility and at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota through January 8. Six college teams are scheduled to train in the area over the next few weeks.

Both Manatee and Sarasota Counties have teamed up with Benderson Development Company to construct world-class rowing facilities with expectations of attracting more teams to train here.

Northeastern University’s rowing team is training in two daily sessions: 7-10 a.m. and 2-5 p.m. daily.
